Aluminum splints: the splint along the palm is contoured to the wrist and aligned at 25°. This ensures the brace is perfectly positioned to provide maximum support for the wrist and is particularly suited for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).
In most instances of CTS, initial treatment consists of anti-inflammatory medications and a suitable wrist support. The correct support will ensure the wrist is aligned correctly to prevent the median nerve becoming pinched. It will hold the nerve in a relaxed position and assists in preventing further pain associated with CTS. It is also suitable as an aid in the treatment of repetitive stress injuries (RSI) and Tendonitis. the support is particularly effective when worn while sleeping. While sleeping sufferers often hold their wrists in unsuitable positions. Wearing the splint will prevent further aggravation of the injury and has been scientifically proven to reduce and at times eliminate the pain caused by early onset CTS.
